You may have seen tissue salts/cell salts at the health food store, but what are they?
Tissue salts are 12 exceptional powerhouse remedies, ready to be absorbed, ready to promote healing, and as they are prepared homoeopathically, gentle and completely safe. I'd call them one of the most valuable supplements available.
Origin
Dr. Wilhelm Schuessler, a German physician, identified that when human cells are turned to ash, they exhibit 12 inorganic minerals. When these 12 minerals are in balance, we feel good - no symptoms, no painful sensations. These minerals are also found in the earth - and therefore our food. Unfortunately, much of our soil is depleted of these minerals due to over-farming, pollution, and the aggressive use of fertilizers and fumigants – and so even the most proper of diets can still lead to deficiencies. Combined with the stress of everyday life and the fact that we are human, sometimes we simply need a little support. By combining his knowledge of biochemical medicine and Homeopathy, Dr. Shuessler formulated what we now know as Schuessler's Tissue Salts, or Cell Salts.
Tissue Salts are produced in the same manner as homeopathic remedies but are diluted and succussed to a lesser degree (1:10 vs 1:100). Prepared homeopathically, tissue salts hold the same benefits as homeopathic remedies. Tissue salts provide small doses of the minerals to encourage the body to better absorb the minerals from the food we eat.
How to choose Tissue Salts
When choosing tissue salts, we look at the symptoms being exhibited. Each salt supports different functions of the body and the symptoms we express are excellent indicators of what our body need. Pairing tissue salts with a balanced diet, reduced stress, and homeopathic support is the ultimate healing plan! Over the next little while, I'll be posting about each individual tissue salt - then I'll link them each below! For now let’s take a look at the 12 salts and when I'd reach for them!

As always, tissue salts and homeopathic remedies are safe to use acutely and alongside other medications. If you have a pre-existing condition, it’s always a good idea to consult with your homeopath and medical professional before starting a new regimen.
